The East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce today announced a brand-new training course designed to help businesses comply with the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), a landmark regulatory change reshaping UK-EU trade, and the developing UK’s CBAM framework.
CBAM is the EU’s landmark carbon pricing system for imports, designed to prevent carbon leakage and encourage greener production globally. For UK exporters, understanding CBAM is critical to maintaining market access, avoiding costly errors, and safeguarding supply chains.
The CBAM training course will take place on Monday 29th September 2025, from 09:30 to 12:30, delivered both face-to-face at the Chambers Offices in Accrington and online via Zoom.
Designed for exporters, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and supply chain professionals, the course will provide essential guidance on:
- Carbon management and accounting basics
- The EU CBAM regulation – scope, timeline, and obligations
- Insights from the May 2025 UK-EU Summit on closer cooperation
- Opportunities for UK businesses to turn compliance into competitive advantage
- The developing UK CBAM framework and its implications
