Transport and Infrastucture
Every business is affected: whether it’s the local lack of connection between public transport and industrial areas in Pennine Lancashire or the abrupt end of the M65 towards Yorkshire, the remoteness regionally of Manchester by train, the international handicap of insufficient flights to China, or the national delays on High Speed Rail and the Northern Hub, every business is affected. Transport and connections have always been vital to the success of any economy and is even more important in the business- agile 21st Century.
Easy access to new and existing markets drives growth and creates jobs by widening the pool of customers, suppliers and workers available to a local economy.
Especially with East Lancashire continuing to be one of the world’s trading area (just look at all the things we make!) Transport is one of our key issues.
