Burnley FC in the Community Announces Year-Long Partnership with VEKA to Deliver 40 Good Deeds

Burnley, January 2026

Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC), the official charity of Burnley Football Club, is proud to announce a year-long campaign with VEKA, who this year, are celebrating their 40th anniversary. They will be supporting the charity through a series of volunteering initiatives and fundraising events under the banner of “40 Good Deeds”.

VEKA employees will dedicate their time, energy, and resources to help BFCitC deliver life-changing programmes across Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley, and West Yorkshire. The collaboration will combine financial contributions, hands-on volunteering, and community engagement, with the goal of raising money, as well as donating time and support throughout 2026.

Supporting the Community

BFCitC currently supports over 32,000 individuals each year through projects spanning health, education, social inclusion, disability support, female football development, and mental health. VEKA currently sponsor the ‘No Nay Never’ (Dementia Café) and ‘Extra Time’ programmes, but their pledged time will strengthen these efforts by contributing to key initiatives such as:

• Clarets v Cancer – Offering companionship and encouragement during weekly sessions.
• Foodbank & Burnley Together – Sorting, packing, and distributing food parcels to families in need.
• Veterans Programme – Providing peer support and companionship to local veterans.

By giving their time, volunteers will help address a range of social challenges, including combating isolation and supporting healthy ageing.
VEKA are also set to take part in major fundraising and events across the year, including International Older People’s Day to name but a few.

A Year of Impact

The partnership will run throughout 2026, with VEKA employees forming mixed-department teams to volunteer at BFCitC programmes. At the end of the year, the winning team who have pledged the most time will be rewarded. VEKA’s anniversary celebrations highlight not only its success as a business but also its dedication to building stronger communities.

Helen Gurman, CEO of Burnley FC in the Community, said:

“We are delighted that VEKA have selected BFCitC as part of their 40th Anniversary ‘Good Deeds’ campaign, as a partner in our mission to support the local community. Their commitment to both fundraising and volunteering demonstrates the power of businesses working hand-in-hand with charities to create lasting impact. Together, we will deliver meaningful change for thousands of people across our region.”

Neil Evans VEKA’s Managing Director added:

“We are immensely proud of our Burnley roots, so supporting the local community is deeply personal to us. As we mark VEKA’s 40th anniversary, we wanted to give something meaningful back. Our ‘40 Good Deeds’ campaign is about more than just financial contributions; we want to support with time, passion, and to make a real difference in the lives of others. We’re proud to support Burnley FC in the Community and the vital work they do across our region”
