HAPPA (Horses and Ponies Protection Association) is celebrating after Café and Kitchen Manager Andy Black was shortlisted for the prestigious Unsung Hero Award at the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2026.
The Unsung Hero Award recognises individuals who go above and beyond behind the scenes to ensure visitors have an exceptional experience. Andy’s nomination reflects his dedication, hard work and the incredible atmosphere he has cultivated within The Café at HAPPA, a space that has become known for its welcoming environment, quality local produce and exceptional service.
Since joining HAPPA, Andy has transformed the Café and its kitchen operations, leading his team with creativity and compassion. Under his guidance, the Café has introduced successful themed events, seasonal menus and local partnerships that have strengthened HAPPA’s reputation as one of Lancashire’s leading visitor destinations.
Beyond his professional excellence, Andy is known across the Charity for his generosity and commitment to others. Andy is always ready to help colleagues, chat with visitors and contribute to wider activities at Shores Hey Farm. His passion for HAPPA’s mission and the people he serves shines through in everything he does.
