East Lancashire Hospice is collaborating on a national campaign centred around leaving a gift in your Will to your local hospice, as part of Hospice UK’s National Legacy campaign, This is Hospice Care, which aims to change perceptions of hospice care.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the vital role hospices play in communities, shift public perceptions of hospice care, and encourage people to leave a gift in their Will.
Launching on 15th September, the campaign will capture the hearts and minds of the nation through a powerful TV advert based on real-life hospice stories. Its goal is to encourage people to consider leaving a gift in their Will to support their local hospice, ensuring that these essential services can continue to provide compassionate and specialist care for future generations.
Nicola Hanna, Director of Income Generation & Marketing at East Lancashire Hospice, shared,
“We’re thrilled to be part of this important campaign that not only highlights the critical work we do, but also the lasting impact that gifts in Wills can have on our ability to continue providing care here in East Lancashire,”
East Lancashire Hospice is encouraging residents to consider the profound impact that leaving a gift in their Will can have. By 2040, the number of annual deaths in the UK is expected to rise by 130,000, with 90% due to natural causes – people who could benefit from hospice care. This increase in demand will place unprecedented pressure on hospices, which already rely heavily on support and funding from their local communities.
Nicola added,
“If we don’t start planning now, the gap in hospice care could become very real. This is why we’re urging people to consider leaving a gift in their Will to East Lancashire Hospice, to ensure we can continue to support our community in the years to come.”
Currently, one in four people in the UK dies without the care and support they need.
