VACANCY | Apprentice Finance Assistant

East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce is a private sector organisation, owned by the Members and accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce. We help companies across the area with their productivity, by helping reduce costs, providing qualified advice, training and developing staff, increasing sales and improving profits. What will you do?

General admin duties including;

  • Updating spreadsheets and databases
  • Filing
  • Maintaining appropriate files, reports, documentation and data
  • Assisting with general tasks when required – placing Amazon orders, signing in/meeting/greeting visitors
  • Handling telephone enquiries, redirecting calls as required

Assist with accounting tasks including;

  • Answering invoice queries
  • Providing customer statements
  • Checking supplier statements – requesting copy invoices as/when required
  • Recording customer receipts
  • Recording supplier payments
  • Managing credit and debit card payments and receipts
  • Assisting the Finance & Policy team as and when required

Desirable qualities:

  • Prior studies of maths/accounts (AAT training to be offered)
  • Prior use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Hours of work:

Your normal hours of work will be from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (one day release for training/college.) You will receive one hour per day for lunch.
