Vacancy | Chamber Low Carbon Energy & Environment Advisor Junior
Reporting to: Senior Energy & Environment Advisor
Responsible For
- Delivering energy/environmental consultancy services.
- Delivering and collecting outputs for funded Chamber Low Carbon Programmes.
Salary
£22,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering energy efficiency consultancy services
- Delivering one to one service to the participating enterprises including onsite energy/environmental audits.
- Developing the enterprise environmental/energy management plan and supporting implementation
- Identifying savings that participating enterprises could make on site.
- Identifying enterprises interested in developing their onsite generation capabilities.
- Promoting relevant and appropriate on-site renewable energy generation products.
- Assisting participating enterprises to calculate their Greenhouse Gas emission baselines, identified savings opportunities and actual realised reductions after installation of equipment or behaviour/process changes.
- Developing Net Zero Carbon Reduction Plans
- Delivering management systems implementation consultancy (ISO 14001, ISO 9001, etc.)
- Developing and delivering environmental awareness and sustainability training.
- Attendance at networking events to engage and recruit businesses onto funded or commercial projects.
- Administration and Membership Services
- With support from Team Members update Chamber CRM systems in relation to members and non-members participating in the Low Carbon Programme and consultancy
- Promote the wider Chamber offering to participants within the Chamber’s geographical operational area.
- To be an effective member of the team, with strong influencing skills, a strong customer service focus, problem solving approach and the ability to build effective relationships.
- Be flexible in accordance with the requirements of the business and carry out any other duties as required.
Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Environmental Science or similar degree or commensurate experience
- Methodical and diligent
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite
- Data management and interpretation
- Technical report writing skills.
- Good organisational skills
- Good communication skills
- Team player and willing to learn.
- Self-starter
- Clean driving licence, access to a motor vehicle and business travel insurance
Desirable
- Interest in business and environmental issues
- Knowledge of energy efficiency measures and technologies
- Innovative
- Working knowledge of circular economy
- Carbon Offsets
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with some expected out of hours networking events and possible weekend working in relation to events.

Based in the Chamber Low Carbon Hub, ground floor Red Rose Court, Accrington
5 weeks holiday per year plus statutory days (pro rata).
