Avoid Delays: Essential Guidance for Completing the Reverse of your Certificate of Origin
Manufacturers

This section must include the full name and address of the manufacturer(s).

If you are the manufacturer, provide your complete company details.

If additional manufacturers are involved, please list their full company names and addresses in the ‘Free Type / Copy & Paste Manufacturer Details’ section, along with the corresponding line-item numbers from
the commercial invoice. See example below:

Suppliers

If goods are sourced from a supplier rather than directly from the manufacturer, you must enter the
supplier’s full details in the “Free type/copy & paste manufacturer details” field. Use the term evidence held by…..

This should include the relevant line-item numbers from the commercial invoice. Do not select any manufacturers from the list.

Please refer to the example below for guidance.

Evidence

For any items not manufactured by your company, you must provide evidence of manufacture. This can be either:

  • Manufacturers invoice clearly showing the origin of the goods and the address of the factory. EU manufacturers must have the declaration on origin detailed.
  • Certified Certificate of Origin by an overseas issuing authority clearly covering the same type of goods
  • Manufacturers letter on their letterhead confirming they manufacture the goods listed on the certificate, or a signed list of items manufactured
  • Valid Long-Term Supplier Declaration.

Supplier invoices alone are not acceptable as standalone evidence unless accompanied by a Long-Term Supplier Declaration.

Long Term Supplier Declarations included a copy of this document with this email

We recommend the use of Long-Term Supplier Declarations (obtained annually from your manufacturers/suppliers) which last one year or obtained when the goods are being ordered.

These we keep on our central file share system for checking multiple origin evidence. Most of our clients utilise this service as it saves them time in obtaining all the relevant invoices.

If there are multiple products from an individual manufacturer/supplier we recommend an appendix being attached with reference to the document in sections 1 and 2 of the LTSD.

It is also advisable to have your part number in this appendix, as manufacturers/suppliers can use different part numbers, see example of spreadsheet information:

Important

Country of origin Box 3 on the front must correlate to the information supplied in the reverse and vice versa

Remember to print a hard copy draft version to check against prior to submission
