Free Deaf Awareness Training available for anyone working in South Ribble
People working, volunteering, or providing services within South Ribble are being encouraged to take advantage of a series of FREE Deaf Awareness Training sessions, funded by South Ribble Council and delivered by Deaf Village Group.
The initiative has been designed to make Deaf awareness training accessible to as many people as possible across the borough, helping individuals and organisations build confidence when communicating with Deaf people and creating more inclusive communities.
Whether you work in social housing, healthcare, social care, retail, education, community services, childcare, sport, or the voluntary sector, these sessions are open to you. From dental practices and GP surgeries to libraries, supermarkets, support groups, sports clubs and childminders, anyone working within South Ribble is invited to attend.
The free three-hour course will provide practical knowledge and skills to help participants better understand Deaf awareness and communicate more effectively with Deaf individuals in their day-to-day interactions.
