Local Employers Invited to Lancashire Wellbeing Business Network Ahead of World Mental Health Day

Businesses across Lancashire are being invited to take part in the first face-to-face meeting of the Lancashire Wellbeing Business Network at Lancashire Mind’s office in Balfour Court, Leyland.

Lancashire Mind is the county’s leading mental health charity and have been providing workplace wellbeing and training for over a decade, working with hundreds of businesses and organisations. The network has been running successfully for the past three years. It was created to support organisations to improve workplace wellbeing, share good practice and connect with other employers facing similar challenges.

This event marks the first in-person network meeting to be held at Lancashire Mind’s new Leyland office, providing an opportunity for members and invited guests to come together, learn from one another and strengthen connections across the Lancashire business community.

For this meeting only Lancashire Mind is inviting representatives from businesses outside of the network who may be interested in joining. This is with the aim of growing and strengthening the current network of over 25 businesses who share the same value and goals surrounding workplace wellbeing.

Taking place ahead of World Mental Health Day – leaders, HR professionals, people managers and learning and development specialists from across the county are invited to explore practical ways to support workplace wellbeing and create healthier workplace cultures.

The 90-minute event has been designed to provide attendees with practical tools, resources and ideas they can take back to their organisations immediately. Topics will include supporting employee wellbeing and resilience, creating inclusive workplace cultures, menopause support in the workplace, practical guidance for line managers, and opportunities to share challenges and solutions with other local employers.

More than a traditional networking event, the Lancashire Wellbeing Business Network provides a space where organisations can learn from one another, discuss emerging workplace challenges and build supportive relationships that help improve wellbeing outcomes for employees across Lancashire.

Emma Bateson, Head of External Relations at Lancashire Mind, said:

“Workplaces have a huge role to play in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the people who work for them. We know many organisations are facing similar challenges, whether that’s supporting employee wellbeing, developing confident managers, responding to changing workforce needs or creating inclusive workplace cultures.”

“One of the most valuable things about the Lancashire Wellbeing Business Network is the opportunity for organisations to learn from one another. Peer support isn’t just important for individuals, it’s incredibly powerful for businesses too. By bringing together professionals from different sectors, we can share ideas, discuss challenges and learn from approaches that are already making a difference elsewhere.”

“The network has been supporting Lancashire employers for the last three years, and we’re excited to welcome businesses to our first face-to-face event at Balfour Court. With World Mental Health Day approaching, it’s a fantastic opportunity for organisations to demonstrate their commitment to better mental health, connect with like-minded employers and explore how we can work together to create healthier workplaces across Lancashire.”

The Lancashire Wellbeing Business Network is open to organisations of all sizes and sectors and aims to support employers through learning, collaboration, networking and shared experiences.
