East Lancashire Hospice, is gearing up for its annual Hop, Skip & Jump event, and they’re calling on all local schools, nurseries, Brownie, Rainbow, and Scout groups in Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, and the Ribble Valley to join them in making a difference.

Last year’s event was a great success, with over £8,000 raised to support the hospice, thanks to the incredible support of local communities. With the participation of more than 24 local schools and nurseries, they were able to make a significant impact and this year, they’re aiming even higher, hoping to raise over £12,000!

So, what exactly does getting involved entail? It’s simple and, most importantly, fun! Each school, nursery, or guiding group can select a day in March or April to take part in the event. Children will have the opportunity to showcase their hopping, skipping, or jumping skills as they fundraise for the hospice, navigating through a designated course or timeframe. But the excitement doesn’t end there – every child will receive a special fundraising pack, filled with goodies to inspire and motivate them along the way.

Inside each pack, you’ll find:

• A sponsorship form for the children to collect pledges from friends, family, and neighbours
• An engaging activity book to keep the excitement going beyond the event
• An Easter crown waiting to be decorated
• A certificate to celebrate each child’s participation and contribution
• A sweet treat to enjoy

Once the event wraps up, East Lancashire Hospice’s fundraising team will personally present your school or group with a well-deserved cheque presentation, recognising your outstanding contribution. It’s not just about raising funds – it’s about coming together as a community to support those in need and making a real difference in the lives of families facing life-limiting illnesses.
