Smile Mediation shortlisted for two national awards
Smile Mediation is celebrating after being shortlisted for Mediation Provider of the Year at the National Mediation Awards 2026!
And Mediation Coordinator, Cath, has been shortlisted too for Community Mediator of the Year!
The double nomination recognises Smile’s work helping people navigate conflict, have difficult conversations and find a way forward in communities, workplaces and neighbourhoods.
Conflict can affect everyday life, making people feel uncomfortable in their homes, anxious about work or unsure how to approach someone when communication has broken down.
Smile offers a space for people to share their concerns, listen to different perspectives and explore what could help improve the situation.
At the heart of the organisation are 90 volunteer mediators, who give their time, skills and compassion to support people through challenging circumstances.
Their commitment to helping others is central to Smile’s work and the team sees this recognition as something for the whole volunteer community to feel proud of.
Smile’s approach also gives mediators opportunities to learn from one another.
Through working together on cases, attending development sessions and sharing experience, volunteers continue building the skills and confidence they bring to their work.
The team is particularly pleased to see Cath’s contribution recognised through her nomination for Community Mediator of the Year.
It is an opportunity to celebrate her dedication and the care and commitment that community mediators bring to supporting people experiencing conflict.
Being shortlisted is a welcome opportunity to thank everyone who gives their time and energy to Smile.
Behind each session is preparation, thoughtful listening and a commitment to helping people consider a different way forward.
The team is proud of both nominations and excited to celebrate the awards in London this December, alongside others working across the mediation community throughout the country.
