Lancashire Mind Opens Free Mental Health Training Places to East Lancashire Chamber Members
Businesses across East Lancashire have the opportunity to access free, accredited mental health and suicide prevention training through Lancashire Mind, one of the county’s leading mental health charities.
Places are being made available to East Lancashire Chamber members on Lancashire Mind’s popular Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Suicide First Aid Lite courses. The training is open to individuals who live or work in Lancashire and offers organisations an opportunity to strengthen workplace wellbeing while developing staff confidence to support colleagues experiencing mental health challenges.
Over the past seven years, Lancashire Mind has trained more than 6,000 people through funded MHFA programmes and supported thousands of businesses and organisations across the county through workplace wellbeing training. Recent learner feedback shows that 100% of participants would recommend Lancashire Mind as a training provider.
Free Mental Health First Aid Training
The Adult Mental Health First Aid course is delivered live online, or in person, over two days and provides learners with the knowledge, awareness and practical skills to support someone experiencing mental ill health.
Participants completing the course will receive:
- An MHFA qualification
- A practical next steps guide to help implement Mental Health First Aid within their organisation
- Three years of support and benefits from MHFA England
Businesses can save more than £400 per learner compared with funding equivalent training privately.
Suicide Prevention Training
Businesses can also access places on Lancashire Mind’s Suicide First Aid Lite course, funded by Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board through the Orange Button Community Scheme.
On completion of the training, participants will:
- Receive a certificate of attendance
- Be eligible to apply to join the Orange Button Community Scheme
- Gain access to the Lancashire Mind Suicide Prevention Information Hub
If courses are fully booked, businesses are encouraged to join the waiting list, as additional dates may be added in response to demand.
Supporting Mental Health First Aiders
Lancashire Mind is also offering ongoing development opportunities for trained Mental Health First Aiders through its MHFAider Mentoring Sessions.
These 90-minute online sessions provide a valuable CPD opportunity, helping MHFAiders maintain confidence, discuss real-life challenges, share learning with peers and access expert guidance from experienced trainers. Small group sizes ensure a supportive environment while helping organisations maintain an effective and sustainable Mental Health First Aid provision.
