FREE Workshops to Support New and Aspiring Businesses in Hyndburn

Local residents thinking about starting a business, or those in the early stages of trading, are being invited to attend a series of free practical workshops designed to build confidence and skills in key areas of business planning.

The sessions focus on two of the most common challenges new businesses face: marketing and sales and funding and financial planning. Both workshops are aimed at helping startups make informed decisions and develop strong foundations from the outset.

The Marketing & Sales Essentials workshop, taking place on Tuesday 5 May, will help participants better understand who their customers are, how to research their market and competitors and how to build a clear and realistic approach to selling.

Attendees will also explore different routes to market and how to choose the most suitable social media platforms for their business.

The following week, on Tuesday 12 May, the Funding & Financial Planning workshop will support new businesses to understand how much funding they need, explore potential funding options such as personal savings, grants and investment, and learn the basics of budgeting, cash flow and financial record keeping.

Both sessions will run from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa in Clayton le Moors and are free to attend.

Salma Chaudhry, Economic Development Manager at Hyndburn Borough Council said:

“Starting a business can feel daunting, particularly when it comes to understanding customers, managing money and making confident decisions. These workshops are designed to provide clear, practical guidance that people can apply straight away, whether they are developing an idea or preparing to launch.”

The workshops are part of ongoing efforts to ensure local residents have access to impartial, practical information that supports enterprise and sustainable business growth across the borough.

Places are limited and must be booked in advance by emailing business@hyndburnbc.gov.uk
