Harry Jones, a keen local runner, has decided to take on his first-ever marathon in aid of East Lancashire Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Inspired by his late mother, Patricia Morris, and his mentor, Phil Read, Harry felt driven to embrace this challenge as a tribute to the profound impact they had on his life.
Harry experienced the services of East Lancashire Hospice first-hand when his mother was cared for in the Inpatient Unit. Reflecting on that time, he shared:
“When my mum was admitted to the hospice, they allowed us to share such precious moments with her, always ensuring she was kept comfortable with the utmost professionalism. Words cannot describe how much my mum meant to me.”
During Patricia’s stay, her relatives made use of the family room, an overnight facility that enabled her to enjoy ‘sleepovers and midnight feasts’ with her grandchildren.
Harry expressed that raising money in his mother’s name has allowed him to feel connected to her throughout the years since her passing.
