On Thursday evening 14th November over 850 guests attended the ABP Knight of Knight awards at Exchange Hall, Manchester Central. This prestigious annual ceremony is where the bodyshop excellence award winners are announced.
James Alpe Ltd is a true visionary in the automotive repair industry, achieving extraordinary milestones with remarkable humility and dedication. Since founding his business in 1983 on local farmland, James has transformed it into one of the UK’s largest independent accident repair centres, employing nearly 110 people and proudly holding over 31 manufacturer approvals.
His business has become synonymous with excellence, from repairing prestige vehicles to undertaking specialist work on motorhomes and horseboxes. Nationally recognised for its expertise and high standards, the company’s reputation is a testament to James’ relentless pursuit of innovation.
Under his leadership, the business has grown beyond accident repair, diversifying into vehicle conversions, sales, and signage. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Clitheroe, James has continually redefined industry boundaries.
A former apprentice himself, James is deeply committed to developing talent, particularly through apprenticeships. Today, 11 apprentices flourish under the mentorship of a dedicated Training and Development Manager, a testament to James’ passion for nurturing the next generation of industry professionals.
Long before sustainability became a mainstream focus, James was already taking action. In 2015, he installed solar panels across the business, and more recently, he created a sustainable business park in Clitheroe. This innovative space supports new and growing enterprises, creates jobs, and promotes renewable energy solutions, showcasing James’ forward-thinking approach.
James’ humility and tireless dedication to his employees define his leadership. Known for being the first to arrive at work and always taking time to connect with his team, he exemplifies what it means to be an exceptional leader.
