Shine Coaching’s Trek Talk has recently won an award in partnership with Burnley Family Hub, Children and Family Wellbeing Service, part of children’s services for Lancashire County Council. 2024 Burnley Together Partnership Award.

In January 2024, Lian Frankland from Shine Coaching started a collaborative journey with Burnley Family Hub to offer a monthly men and their children walk, which continues to grow.

We meet every 3rd Saturday, from Burnley Wood, Family Hub at 10am -12 noon.

A stroll across to Townley Park Back returning to the Family Centre were the children can play, snacks and drinks available for all families.

This walk is pram friendly and we walk to the pace of all.

The Shine Volunteer and walk leader Danny has become pivotal in this walk. From Burnley himself, knowing the area well, yet we are always open to new walking paths.

A warm welcome to Dads, Carers and Grandads…. A place for all to meet others.

Being in nature has great health and well being benefits as well as fostering new relationships and connections.

One of Shine’s Values is Making a Difference and the group tell us this walk has made a difference to them individually and their family. The impact is benefiting the community in Burnley in their physical and mental wellbeing.
We would love you to join us.

Wrap up and wear suitable footwear, but in the event of any storms or if it was to be unsafe to walk, we still have the Family Hub and outdoor space to use.
