Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone is celebrating the incredible success of its month-long fundraising campaign, Paint the Town Orange (PTTO), which has raised over £12,000 to support activities, opportunities, and services for young people in the local community.

The campaign brought together local businesses, community groups, and young people in a vibrant show of support. Highlights included bake sales, Halloween-themed events, car washes, raffles, a sponsored wheelchair push from Darwen Youth Zone to Blackburn Youth Zone, a Skinflint Rally, and even an upcoming skydive, demonstrating the creativity and dedication of participants.

Key supporters included Blackburn Round Table, Dave Riley – Community Champion, EE & BT, Presspart, Multevo Limited, Perspex, Rosslee Construction, Staci, Vital Energi, Herbert Parkinson, Symclean, Pets Choice, and Promethean. The campaign also featured the efforts of the B&DYZ team Jess, Scott, Samina, Romeo, and Patrick, whose energy and commitment inspired the community throughout the month.

Tamara Hitchen, Events and Stewardship Lead at Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, said:

“Paint the Town Orange has been a wonderful celebration of our community coming together. From bake sales to a sponsored wheelchair push, every event has shown the creativity, determination, and generosity of everyone involved. These funds will make a real difference in the lives of local young people, ensuring they all continue to receive a free hot meal.”

The campaign continues with a final fundraising skydive, and the Youth Zone looks forward to sharing the full total raised to continue supporting young people in the area.
