Sagar Insurance Brokers have taken on yet another new challenge whilst raising money for a local charity by completing a Tough Mudder!
Sagar Insurance took on the challenge on the 15th July 2023 in Heaton Park, Manchester. The course chosen was supposed to be a 20 obstacle, 10km course – turns out that Tough Mudder were sneaky and increased the course to 14.8km and 23 obstacles!
The charity they chose to support was Millie’s Trust, very close to Sagar’s hearts. Millie’s Trust was formed in Millie’s memory in 2012 who sadly passed away after choking on her food at nursery. Her parents set up the trust and have been campaigning for all early years staff to be trained in Paediatric first aid. They also provide access to first aid training for all no matter their situation at minimal cost. Find out more here: https://www.milliestrust.com/
A team of 5 from Sagar joined up with a team of 9 from Millie’s Trust to take on the course, it took a great amount of teamwork to get everyone through and they all made it to the finish line!
Through the support of friends, family, insurers and clients the team from Sagar raised a whopping £1,115.11 for the charity.
As if one Tough Mudder wasn’t enough – One member from Team Sagar decided to take on another two weeks later! Alongside Pendleside Hospice and members from East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, Lee took on the 15km 35 obstacle course in Skipton on the 29th July 2023 and they all smashed it!
Sagar have a few more charity events planned with more to come including a Colour Run for Shelter and a Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for Pendleside in September.
