East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of it’s latest initiative, the Neurodiversity Awareness Workshop.
This workshop aims to promote equality and diversity in the workplace, emphasising the importance of understanding and embracing neurodiversity for the benefit of both employees and organisations.
Neurodiversity refers to the diverse range of neurocognitive functioning among individuals, highlighting that people with neurological differences, such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and other Specific Learning Disabilities (SEN), experience, interact with, and interpret the world in unique ways.
Recognising and supporting neurodivergent individuals in the workplace fosters an inclusive environment, where they can thrive and contribute effectively.
Mark Greenhalgh, Training Business Development Manager, expressed his enthusiasm:
“We are running this awareness workshop to help create a work environment that enables neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and SEN, to feel safe, supported, and able to perform at their best.
“By increasing awareness and understanding of neurodiversity, we aim to facilitate a culture of acceptance and inclusion within our local business community.”
The Neurodiversity Awareness Workshop is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 27th September, from 13.30PM to 15.30PM at the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
During this engaging and informative session, participants will gain valuable insights into neurodiversity, learn effective strategies for supporting neurodivergent colleagues, and explore the numerous advantages of embracing diverse perspectives in the workplace.
Interested individuals and organisations can secure their spots by contacting the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce Business Training team at businesstraining@chamberelancs.co.uk. Limited spaces are available, so early registration is encouraged.
Mark added:
“We encourage all local businesses and professionals to join us for this workshop, together, we can foster a more inclusive and diverse workforce, where all individual’s unique talents and strengths are valued and harnessed.”
