Lancashire 2025 – ‘Have your say’

A once-in-a lifetime opportunity for Lancashire and our future generations
Lancashire is bidding to become UK City of Culture 2025. It will be the first time that a county-scale cultural programme will compete for the title and the team at Lancashire 2025 needs you, the residents of Lancashire, to help shape a programme that will win this prestigious competition.  Winning will bring about major change and lasting benefits for all of Lancashire.
Lancashire 2025 will be for everyone no matter what age, gender, race, sexuality, religion or education. Making sure everyone has a chance to get involved is at the heart of the Lancashire 2025 vision and by inviting everyone to have their say, we can make sure that the bid submitted belongs to us all, every single person in the county.
Debbi Lander, Bid Director Lancashire 2025, said “There are 1.5 million people who live in Lancashire and we want everyone to get involved in culture. There are now three easy ways for you to contribute to the development of a winning bid for the title.”
“Listening to the people of Lancashire and understanding the culture that matters most to them first-hand, is vital to the county-wide ownership and engagement in the project.
“This is the beginning of our journey towards Lancashire2025, I hope you will join us and play an active role in winning for Lancashire.”

THREE WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

1. Fill in the Lancashire 2025 ‘Have Your Say’ survey. Completing this survey will help us to start understanding the things that are happening in Lancashire right now and what you think about them. We will use this information to make the strongest case possible for winning the title and bringing about a revolution for arts and culture across the county.
2. Join a Lancashire 2025 ‘Have Your Say’ drop-in session. For now, we will be holding workshops online and, when things become safer, in person at various points throughout the lifetime of the project. Our drop-in sessions will be the perfect place to share your thoughts about culture, Lancashire and your hopes for the future.
3. Share a Lancashire Snapshot.  Send in a photograph, video or piece of writing about a place, activity or event you care about. That could be a beautiful outdoor landscape perfect for a festival; a run-down area that you’d love to see cleaned up and re-imagined by artists; or a venue or event that was significant for your community but is no longer running and you’d like to see it come back. There are no right or wrong suggestions for our Lancashire Snapshots. By doing this you will help us to see and understand the things and places our communities value most across the county.
Every completed survey, Lancashire Snapshot or conversation at a drop-in session helps us take another step towards winning the title, so we thank you all in advance for your help and support.
