With Brexit looming and the challenges businesses will face, the basics of all international trade, is understanding commodity codes and ensuring you are using the correct commodity code for your products. Commodity codes classify your goods, so you can complete export/import declarations, Check if there’s duty or VAT to pay, find out about duty reliefs. As the UK approaches its departure from the EU, it’s crucial that businesses are doing all they can to prepare for the future and commodity codes are a starting point in looking at WTO rules.

This half-day training course covers all the key elements of the UK Trade Tariff and Commodity Codes.

Our trainers will highlight commercial implications of the correct use of the UK Trade Tariff and commodity codes and why it is so important to have a good understanding of them, which will help towards successful and efficient global business.

Businesses are strongly advised to review their commodity code classifications at least once if not twice a year as those businesses which fail to select accurate commodity codes and maintain appropriate records are subject to significant penalties for non-compliance.
