Whalley, Lancashire, UK— Hurst Green Plastics Ltd, a proud family-owned business based in Whalley, Lancashire, is delighted to announce that it has been honoured with the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in the category of Innovation.

This national accolade recognises the company’s sustained commitment to innovation through its development of TwinBin Live, a cutting-edge inventory management system. Used across multiple global industries, TwinBin Live represents a major breakthrough in the real-time tracking and management of high-value, safety-critical components.

Founded with a focus on plastic dispensers for the catering and food sectors, Hurst Green Plastics pivoted after a request from a leading Aerospace company revealed major gaps in stock control systems. In response, the company created the original TwinBin — a mechanical system designed to simplify and secure component tracking.

Over the past 15 years, that initial concept has evolved into TwinBin Live, a digital, data-driven solution that enables real-time, vendor-managed inventory. This innovation has had a transformative impact across not only Aerospace but also industries including automotive, rail, electronics, general engineering, and healthcare.

“Receiving the King’s Award is a tremendous honour and a proud moment for our entire team,”

said Tommy Sharples, Managing Director at Hurst Green Plastics Ltd.

“Innovation has always been at the heart of what we do, but this recognition reflects the dedication, creativity, and determination of our staff, supply chain partners, and customers who’ve supported us every step of the way.”

The company extends heartfelt thanks to its North West-based supply chain partners for their ongoing collaboration and to its global customer base, whose evolving needs have continuously inspired new product variants and system enhancements.

Most importantly, the leadership team credits the award to its close-knit staff:

“This recognition belongs to our people. Their hard work, passion, and belief in what we do have driven our growth from a small family operation to a globally trusted supplier.”

Hurst Green Plastics Ltd looks forward to leveraging this award as a platform for further innovation and international expansion.

Mandy Lockett, International Business Director at the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce commented,

“We’re absolutely thrilled to congratulate Hurst Green Plastics on being awarded the King’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. Having worked alongside them over the years, we’ve seen first-hand the dedication, creativity, and resilience that defines their approach to doing business — not just in Lancashire, but on a national and international stage.

This award is a well-earned recognition of their continuous drive to innovate and grow, while staying true to the values of a proud family business. On behalf of the entire International Business Team, we couldn’t be prouder to see one of our long-standing members receive such a prestigious honour.

Congratulations once again — we look forward to continuing the journey with you.”
