The event also featured insightful Q&A sessions with several long-standing members of the International Trade Club. Here are some highlights:
- Laura Sieczkowski, Managing Director – Mantle Packaging Machinery LTD
Q: How long have you been a member of the International Trade Club?
A: 5-6 years.
Q: Have you found being a member useful?
A:Absolutely! As a company, we already export but we’re always looking for new markets. I’ve used the International Trade Club to access courses to upskill myself, such as the foundation award. Other team members have also enrolled in funded programs. I frequently consult Marie for information about exporting to new countries, including documentation, and we’ve used the customs broker service to assist with imports. It’s a really valuable resource.
I’ve attended countless International Trade Club Breakfast Meetings. I would come regardless of the topic because there’s always something useful. From a networking perspective, it’s great to be around people in similar situations, even if they’re not in the same industry. For instance, today I sat with two new people—one supplies something we’re currently buying from Italy, and the other does freight forwarding, which we use regularly. I’ve already made connections, exchanged business cards, and received valuable information.
Q: Is the International Trade Club meeting all your requirements?
A: Yes, they are always available by phone and send regular emails that prompt me to book events. Their proactive approach is excellent.
- Joanne Farley, Senior Management Accountant – Flavour Warehouse LTD
Q: How long have you been a member of the International Trade Club?
A: 5 years.
Q: Would you recommend the International Trade Club to others?
A: Yes, I have done so recently.
Q: Is there anything specific you find more useful at the events?
A: There are several aspects I find particularly useful. The HMRC updates are crucial for staying compliant with regulations, and the sessions on exporting goods provide clear guidance on best practices. Additionally, the guest speakers bring a wealth of experience and new perspectives that are incredibly beneficial.
- Rachael Wallice, Director – Workwear Warehouse LTD
Q: How long have you been a member of the International Trade Club?
A: 3 years.
Q: Do you find the events useful?
A: I always gain something, often advice on marketing or shipping. The speakers are great, and it’s helpful to speak with them at the end.
Q: Is the International Trade Club meeting all your needs?
A: Yes, although our exporting fluctuates, I often call Marie or Mandy for help since it’s not our primary expertise
- Paul Vandepeer, After Market Manager – Global Bakery Solutions
