VACANCY: Non-Executive Director

About us

East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce is committed to helping the East Lancashire economy thrive. We are active at local, regional and national levels in the influential decision-making bodies, whose programmes and investments, both public and private, determine the environment in which business operates.

We exist to support and connect companies, bringing them together to build new relationships, share best practice and foster new opportunities. Through practical, on the ground support, we help businesses to trade locally, nationally and globally. We help companies across the area with their productivity, by helping reduce costs, providing qualified advice, training and developing staff, increasing sales and improving profits.

We are accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce, employ over 40 staff and are in a strong financial position.

The Chamber is a locally based private sector organisation, owned by our members. Our organisational strategy and operational priorities are set by our Executive Board. This Board of Directors comprises local business leaders plus the Chamber Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive.

The Role

East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce is currently strengthening and rejuvenating the Executive Board and would welcome nominations/self-nominations from members.

This is a voluntary role with a commitment to attend between five and seven 2-hour meetings per year.

If you have knowledge and business experience, especially in the areas of HR or Technology, and are interested in using your skills to help shape the future direction of your local business community alongside like-minded business leaders, please contact Louise Sydenham l.sydenham@chamberelancs.co.uk with your expression of interest.
