HAPPA (Horses and Ponies Protection Association) are inviting you to join them for a family themed fun day at Shores Hey Farm in Burnley. The event takes place on Sunday 24th April, from 11am until 4pm and entry is just £5 for a group of up to six people.

The Fun Day celebrates St George’s Day. Visitors will need to keep their eyes open for special appearances from Darkenvale’s Knights of the Round Table and a heroic HAPPA horse jumping display.

Families can enjoy, on the day, glitter tattoos and face painting, a bouncy- castle, tombola, hook-a duck and a George & the Dragon themed trial with crafting. To top everything off if you or a family member attends the event in fancy dress there is an opportunity to win some fantastic prizes at the fancy dress competition.

For those that want to get up close to the main attraction of the day, the HAPPA horses or ponies, there will be pony riding sessions and pony grooming for ages over four.

Julie Pharaoh-Gan, HAPPA’s Head of Marketing and Fundraising explains:

“Traditionally we have always had a special event for all our supporters, members and visitors. Sadly, due to the pandemic for the past two years this hasn’t been possible, and we really want to welcome everyone back with a fantastic event. This year with the date so close to St George’s we have themed the day and hope that everyone will embrace this and join in the fancy dress competition. I hope that families will enjoy learning more about the legend. With lots to see and do this will certainly be a great day out for all.”

By attending the day, you will be contributing towards the Charity’s vital work of Giving a Second Chance to Abused, Neglected and Unwanted Equines. So why not have a great day whilst doing your bit for animal welfare?
