How to apply for temporary duty suspensions and tariff quotas for importing goods into the UK.
If your commodity code on the UK Trade Tariff website is showing an Autonomous Tariff Suspension, then you may be able to import your goods without paying duty.
The place to start is https://www.gov.uk/guidance/duty-suspensions-and-tariff-quotas as this document will give you the guidance on applying and how HMRC assess applications. The government invited applications for duty suspensions between 1 June and 31 July 2021, the 2021 application window is now closed. Additional application opportunities for duty suspensions will open in 2022. There is an email address that you may be able to obtain further information when the new windows will be opened TariffSuspensions@trade.gov.uk
