B&E Boys, a prominent local construction, development and property investment company, is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2021.

B&E Boys are very proud to be celebrating our 60th anniversary in business in 2021. To mark the anniversary staff, clients and suppliers were invited to attend a celebration evening held at The Whitaker Museum in Rawtenstall earlier this week.

Director, Peter Boys explains:

“We wanted to thank all involved in growing the business – loyal staff, clients and suppliers – if we hadn’t had their backing, we might not have been celebrating 60 years today. Not only did we want to showcase what has been achieved so far, we also gave a clear message of future growth for each of our company divisions and how everyone could play a part in that.”

B&E Boys have held similar events at St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall in the past, however, as a recently completed project at the Whitaker Museum, it seemed fitting to hold this celebration there. With a number of our skill sets being utilised in renovation, heritage and modern construction, as well as working with public sector, community interest groups and their funding partners we felt it would be a great way of showcasing this completed project. At the same time, it would also be a great opportunity to support the local museum and promote it as a great venue for the community.

The project at The Whitaker was a part of the £1.9 million transformation of the museum. It was delivered by Rossendale Borough Council in partnership with The Whitaker CIC and supported by money from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The theme of the redevelopment was nature, society and creativity. The goal was to enable The Whitaker to become a focal point for the local community, and for tourists visiting the area, which we believe will definitely be extremely successful!

The company currently works on construction projects in both private and public sectors ranging between £200,000 to £10m in value, undertakes open market residential and employment development schemes as well as continuing to expand its property investment holding. Our development arm currently has schemes underway at Waters Meeting in Bolton, Brownside Road in Worsthorne Burnley, and Greensnook Lane in Bacup, and our investment team are currently remodelling and renovating Connect 56 Business Park in Bury. The group have ambitious plans for growth in the coming years and continue to look for sites to facilitate them

Attendees at this week’s showcase event included Madam Mayor, Councillor Jackie Oakes, Valley Heritage, Pierce Chartered Accountants, Trevor Dawson, Knight Frank, Nolan Redshaw, and many more. The event was held in the newly created function room, with small ‘classic pub food’ dishes served by The Whitaker staff to guests.

Throughout the 60 years B&E Boys have been in business, family values and a strong community ethos have been at the heart of everything we do. Whether that is providing quality homes for the local families, improving school and college facilities as well as supporting them with careers advice, or supporting local businesses, the community around us it at the core of our work.
