Edge Hill University’s Department of Computer Science has partnered with the Institute of Coding (IoC) to launch a new Skills Bootcamp to help connect people directly into employment.
The IoC is a collaborative national consortium of industry, educators and outreach providers that are working together to respond to the UK’s digital skills gap through the delivery of employer-led digital skills education.
The national Skills Bootcamps are being developed by the Government as part of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs, in partnership with employers, providers and local authorities. The Skills Bootcamps will provide learners with best-in-class digital skills education and deliver resilient pathways to work, with each learner receiving personal support in seeking to attain an interview with an employer upon completion of their Skills Bootcamp.
Designed to support learners into digital-based employment opportunities
Edge Hill University’s Skills Bootcamp in Cloud Computing and Data Analytics is a flexible 14 week programme, giving people the opportunity to build up tech skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer. The 14-week course is divided into three terms and will deliver an industry informed curriculum on the concepts of artificial intelligence, machine learning technology and data analytics, as well as practical skills for generating, analysing, visualising and interpreting data. The programme will deliver valuable and essential skills, which have been identified by employers and codified into the architecture of the programme and its deliverable aims and objectives. The programme’s employability pathway is designed to support learners into digital-based employment opportunities in the digital sector.
The Skills Bootcamp is 100% online, flexible, free (please see website for eligibility criteria), requires a commitment to 20 learning hours per week and starts on September 6th, 2021. For more information visit ehu.ac.uk/SkillsBootcamp or contact Mike Boyle email: firstname.lastname@example.org
