Clitheroe based charity The Foundation for Ribble Valley Families is appealing for businesses to become corporate sponsors to support their work with local families and young people.

The FRVF is a small local charity formed to support families to improve mental health and wellbeing and access services and support.  Since they were founded in 2015 they’ve provided support to over 400 local families, offering Brief Solution Focused therapy in the form of one to one therapeutic coaching for parents and young people to help manage anxiety and low mood.

In 2019 with the support of Ribble Valley Borough Council they opened the Family Thrive Centre in Clitheroe which hosts a range of family friendly activities including baby massage, messy play and Mindfulness Based Mind Management courses.

To enable the charity to continue to support those in need, they are seeking corporate sponsors, with corporate packages available from as little as £350.

Ribble Valley accountancy firm DSM Chartered Accountants have already pledged their support for the charity.

Director Denise Fieldhouse said:

“We know that the past few months have been very difficult for many local families and despite COVID, FRVF have continued to provide support with free, online packages of one to one therapeutic coaching to reach local parents and young people who are struggling with mental health issues.

“We know that these mental health support packages can make a real difference and DSM are delighted to support the charity so they can continue to offer a free service so that any families facing problems can access support.”

Businesses or individuals who sign up to the Sponsor Programme can do so knowing that their donations will help to provide a package of support to local families.  Support provided can include one to one therapeutic coaching sessions with qualified coaches, providing strategies and ideas to help manage anxiety and low mood, and working with a family to improve wellbeing and relationships.

All local sponsors will feature on the FRVS website and social media and be invited to events at the Family Thrive Centre to showcase the charity’s work and recognise local business sponsors.
