13 businesses across Blackburn with Darwen were recognised in this year’s HIVE IN IT TOGETHER AWARDS 2020.
The awards, which were held virtually, were hosted by local comedian Tez Ilyas and shone a spotlight on those individuals and businesses that went above and beyond to support the community during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Replacing the annual HIVE Blackburn with Darwen Business Awards, this year’s awards called on people in the borough to nominate their heroes and those businesses that pledged their support to helping others during unprecedented times.
Ian Brown, Chairman of HIVE said:
“We were overwhelmed with nominations and want to thank everyone for getting involved. The nominations were both heart-warming and humbling and it was wonderful to see how the communities of Blackburn with Darwen have come together to support each other.
“We spent a lot of time reviewing each nomination and actually increased the number of recognition awards than we had planned to! We just couldn’t let the opportunity pass to recognise as many of those employees, teams, organisations and businesses as we could that really have gone above and beyond in a time of national crisis.”
In addition to the 13 businesses recognised on the night for their innovation, commitment, tenacity and dedication there were also five businesses featured as case studies. Showcasing what they did and how they did it, the case study businesses were The Cardboard Box Company, Herbert Parkinson, Star Tissue, Community Clothing and Blackburn BID.
The businesses nominated who were recognised on the night were:
WEC Group Ltd
CMAC Group
Unit 2 Fitness For Women
Blackburn Youth Zone
Creative Football
The Wish Centre
The Wellbeing Farm
Ewood Experience at Blackburn Rovers
Pierce CA ltd
CUBE HR Consultancy Limited
