Nelson and Colne College is set to host its second Virtual Open Event for school leavers and parents/carers – with a bigger and better experience in store for those who attend.

The Virtual School Leaver Open Event will take place on Wednesday 11 November, from 6pm until 8pm, and it will give visitors the opportunity to find out more about life at Nelson and Colne College – the number one FE college nationally for A Level progress and for student satisfaction.

There will be the opportunity to enjoy virtual skills demonstrations in a range of subjects, explore our campus with interactive, panoramic tours and take part in live chats with tutors. Visitors will also have the opportunity to book on to a campus tour.

Those in attendance will learn more about the college’s broad range of A Level and vocational subjects, as well as Apprenticeships, and the progression routes available to them, including to leading Russell Group universities such as Oxbridge, and employment. There will also be more information on the College’s new career-aligned T Level qualifications available in Digital, Education and Childcare, Health and Science.

‘Your first choice destination’

Principal of Nelson and Colne College Group Amanda Melton said: “Choosing a College is a big decision, and if you have an ambition to successfully progress into a rewarding and sustainable career, then Nelson and Colne College should be your first choice destination when you leave school – we are one of the leading colleges nationally across a range of academic measures.

“Open Events are the perfect opportunity to really get a feel for what it is like to study at College. While we would love to see pupils and their parents/carers in person, their safety is our number one priority right now, and as such we have invested time and money into this online platform, to ensure they will receive the same quality and same delivery they would expect if they were coming to see us on campus.
