UCB expands range of industry-focussed courses for September 2020

In the run-up to the start of a new academic year, University Courses Burnley (UCB) has added additional courses to its portfolio, expanding its already extensive offer of industry-ready qualifications for students to gain. The new UCB courses have been approved by Pearson College London and cover the subject areas Applied Science and Performing Arts. These are in addition to the Policing with Criminal Investigation honours degree which was announced recently.

New for September 2020 are:

· HNC Applied Science (Biology and Chemistry pathways)

· HND Applied Science (Biology and Chemistry pathways)

· HNC Performing Arts (pathways in Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre)

· HND Performing Arts (pathways in Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre)

· HNC in Public Services

· HND in Public Services

Emma Hurst, Dean of UCB said:

‘Having different levels of courses on offer will be attractive to both undergraduates who want to step up and be career ready and employers who want to upskill their staff. All our degree programmes at UCB are industry-focussed and offer undergraduates of all ages the opportunity to break the mould and do something different. These additional courses are a welcome boost to our portfolio as we adapt and respond to our students demands – they won’t be the last!’

Commenting on the Honours degree in Policing with Criminal Investigation which is part of the same portfolio addition at UCB – and was announced a few weeks ago, Emma added:

‘We’ve been delighted with the response to the release of this exciting new programme and within hours of announcing it we received enquiries and registrations, highlighting just how closely linked these programmes are to what our community wants to study. Our Police Studies with Criminal Investigation degree programme offers an ideal progression for

anyone with a qualification in Public Services or for those seeking to return to education or looking for a change in career and it is already proving to be very popular!’

Alongside having the opportunity to study one of these high quality degree programmes, as a UCB undergraduate you will learn relevant industry skills as well as being taught by industry experts within our £100 million Campus in Burnley, which is within easy reach of transport links.

‘These are exciting times for UCB”

Added Emma: ‘These are exciting times for UCB as we strengthen our model of providing something different. As many students are opting to study closer to home we are adapting and boosting our portfolio of industry-focussed courses so that remaining to study with us in Burnley is a viable option for everyone.’
