EU – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (FTA)

The EU – Vietnam FTA came into force on the 1st August 2020 and EUR1’s can now be issued for exports to Vietnam. Exporters should of course ensure their goods meet the necessary Rules of Origin.

The UK Government has said that it is currently negotiating with Vietnam to roll over this deal from the 1st January 2021 when the transition period ends.

Discussions around the roll over of free trade agreements and border controls will be discussed at the next exclusive International Trade Club virtual online meeting on the 17th September 2020, where we have secured Liam Smyth from the British Chamber of Commerce.
