Read Tessa’s testimonial following her support from the Chamber helpline.
“I closed my yoga studio mid March due to the Coronavirus outbreak, only to be told that I was not eligible for the Small Business Support Grant as the property that I rent had not been split properly. As a new business I was not entitled to any of the other financial support schemes provided by the government at the time, plus I had just become a mum and my baby was born a week before lockdown.
“For the last 12 weeks I have worked hard to provide evidence of my entitlement to the grant. With limited channels of communication available due to the pandemic, I was in limbo waiting for both the local council and the VOA to update their systems. As the deadline for the grant grew closer, I decided to contact the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce. Straight away I was reassured and pointed in the right direction. As a new business owner I am constantly learning and adapting; it can often feel daunting and lonely, never mind in a pandemic.
My query was dealt with immediately
“With the support and guidance of Miranda at East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce I have now successfully received the grant. My query was dealt with immediately and it was incredibly reassuring to have someone with an in-depth knowledge of business to help me in what felt like a helpless situation. The guidance provided by phone and email has made all the difference to my business and I would not hesitate in recommending any business owner to get in touch for any help or advice.
“I’m happy to share my story as I think it’s so important that other people know about the help available.
“I’m getting the grant! Thank you so much, I can’t tell you how happy I am, it is such a relief. Thank you for your help and support, you were there when I had nobody to turn to for help.”
There’s never been a better time to have your Chamber in your corner.
