Manufacturing

East Lancashire Chamber, with the support of North & Western Lancashire and Lancaster Chambers, runs the Lancashire Manufacturers’ Forum. This is steered by a number of businesses including BAE Systems, Crown Paints, BCW, Nutrition Group, AGC Chemicals.

The Forum is private and exclusive to manufacturers and allows for free exchange of ideas, knowledge and techniques across the different disciplines and sectors that make up manufacturing. It is committed to building local supply chains.

As an example, three of Lancashire’s largest manufacturers have agreed to share experiences on the benefits of cell/team based production line operations.

The Forum organises seminars which are aimed at stimulating thought and addressing issues that are of real concern to manufacturers.

Regional Manufacturing Forum

If extended networks and influence are required, the Chamber has unrivalled access to the NW Regional Manufacturing Forum (which it chairs), which besides having leading and typical manufacturers from each part of the NW, like BAE Submarines, Bentley Cars, PDS (CNC Machining), also comprises the major sector alliances (Aerospace and Automotive) and Universities. There are also representatives of all of the Region’s Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and B.I.S

The Regional Forum seeks to develop NW supply chains, link innovation in Higher Education Institutes to Industry, to promote manufacturing as a rewarding career option and to increase the take-up of national programmes like the Advanced Manufacturing Supply Chain Initiative (AMSCI).
