To support the National Export Challenge and help companies commence or grow their exports, Lancashire Business Growth Fund provides specialist international trade support for companies looking to trade safely and expand overseas.

One local business, Northern Industrial based in Blackburn, made full use of the tailored support by accessing the Chambers International Business Specialists to help them understand the technicalities of operating under HMRCs Inward Processing (IP) regime. With vast quantities of spare parts being regularly imported into the UK and re-exported to discerning customers all around the world, the IP regime helps Northern Industrial to remain competitive in this fierce sector, by eliminating or delaying the payment of Customs duties and import VAT.

For an innovative business like Northern Industrial, saving the world from downtime, one spare at a time has helped them to grow and export to 136 countries, and they are developing their online routes to market in over 20 languages.

Jacky Hartley, who engaged the Chamber to resolve their retrospective IP claims, commented “The Chamber of Commerce were extremely helpful providing assistance and guidance in dealing with our Import and Export VAT and Duty issues. I would recommend contacting them and using their expertise and experience with such matters, it really did make a difference to us”.

Spokesperson for the Chamber of Commerce said “Our specialist support includes in-house export training, Consultancy on HMRC regimes, international credit reports, market research, tenders, foreign exchange, distributor agreements and tailored support specific to company’s needs.
