The Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007 was enacted on 25 November 2008. It aims to provide civil protection for the most vulnerable people at risk of forced marriage and to send out a clear message to all communites that forced marriages will not be tolerated.
This conference aims to look at the national and local picture in relation to protecting people. Leading figures will share good practice and examine the challenges we face in order to improve local responses and develop working protocols and consistent responses to those issues.
