1. What is the Intertrading Platform Service?
This is an online business trading service operated by the Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire, which aims to simplify the way that businesses can access information on business opportunities and public and private sector tenders. Visit www.chambertrading.co.uk to login to this service.

2. How does this service work?
This online “Intertrading Platform” works by matching up business opportunities with companies registered on our database, who have identified that they can supply a particular product or service. As matches occur you will receive an e-mail alert or you can subscribe to SMS texts and have alerts sent to your mobile phone. Details of the business opportunities or tenders are then emailed to you or the email address you have nominated. Below shows the number of business categories that you are entitled to select so that you can receive business opportunities or tenders to quote for.

You can select up to 10 business categories if you are a Chamber Member. You can select only 1 business category if you are a non Chamber Member.

3. How do I register for this service?
Chamber Members: If we have your contact email address, you will have automatically been registered for this service and you will be able to login using your “Members Area” username and password. If you have not received or forgot your username and password, please contact the Commercial Team on +44 (0)1254 356400 or email commercial@chamberinternet.co.uk requesting a reminder. If your details are not currently on our database, please contact the Commercial Team on +44 (0)1254 356400 or email commercial@chamberinternet.co.uk and we will add your details and you will be able to gain access to the Intertrading Platform within 24 hours.
Non-chamber members can access this service free of charge for a 3 month period. After this time you will no longer be able to post or receive business opportunities If you wish to continue posting and/or receiving business opportunities you will be required to join the Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire as a member company. To become a valued Chamber Member, please contact the Commercial Team on +44 (0)1254 356400 or email commercial@chamberinternet.co.uk

4. What do I do next?
Once you have logged on:

• Check your company information and details within the user profile

• Ensure this record of you and your business is up to date, if not you will miss out on some great business opportunities and tenders

• Ensure you complete the section about your business. Please give any prospective buyer, in a concise way, as much information about your company as possible i.e. identify the products and services you supply, your quality standards or preferential discounts on offer

• Upload your company logo or a picture of yourself

• If required, stock up on a supply of text credits so you can be informed of business opportunities or tenders wherever you are

Manage Your Areas of Interest
As a Chamber Member you can select up to ten business categories, to match business opportunities or tenders that you would like to receive and are able to fulfil. Choose carefully as the business categories you select have a direct impact on the business opportunities or tenders you receive. You can change your business categories at anytime through your “Manage Your Areas of Interest” section.
As a non chamber member you can choose only one business category for the trial period of 3 months.

5. When will I start to receive business opportunities alerts?
Business opportunities will be posted by participating businesses as and when required, the “Intertrading Platform” will automatically alert you to new business opportunities or tenders that match your profile via email or through a text message. Through the “Intertrading Platform” you can either ask for further details on the specific business opportunity or tender or decline the alert if you feel it is not suitable for your business. The more active you are within the site, the more likely it will be that you will be selected to give a quote so be sure to use the site to find suppliers for yourself.

6. Is there any cost to receive these alerts?
Email alerts are free of charge, but you will have to purchase text credits to receive text alerts through your mobile phone. You can purchase text credits online through the site.

7. How do I post my own request to find a supplier or provider?
The ”Ask for a Quotation” service, allows you to ask specific business sectors to respond to a business opportunity or tender that you have to offer. This service gives you the freedom to choose the companies you would like to target, and the number of responses you would like to receive within a certain time period. Don’t forget to provide a precise description of the business opportunity or tender in your request along with your contact details, so people have a clear idea of what they need to include in their proposal and who they should contact.

8. Can I use this service as a business directory?
Yes, as a Chamber of Commerce Member you can use the search facility to find and network with individual users within member and non-member organisations. Don’t worry, you will still be able to see who is a member of the Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire through their company profile, and any offers they give to chamber members.
